Integral Recruiting Design is a practitioner-led recruiting-technology firm. We don't just consult on HR technology. We operate these systems every day. That hands-on credibility is what lets us run systems for clients, advise independently across the HR-technology stack, and lead the System Admin Insights community of practitioners.
Meet the people behind IRD
Alex MarcusFounder and CEOAlex founded Integral Recruiting Design in 2020, after leading an ICIMS implementation at Good Shepherd Services in New York City. In 2021 IRD was named ICIMS Partner Innovator of the Year. Alex also founded System Admin Insights, a community of more than 300 HR system administrators, and hosts its weekly call. Earlier, Alex taught chess and creative writing at a Bronx juvenile detention center and toured as a fiddle player with Hank Williams III. Outside work, Alex chairs IGNITE Tech Support for Seniors, a volunteer program that pairs high school students with seniors for hands-on tech help.
Vivian LarsenHR Technology StrategistVivian brings more than twenty years in talent acquisition technology to IRD, which she joined as an HR Technology Strategist in February 2025. Before IRD she spent more than ten years at ICIMS, most recently as a Principal Program Manager after years as a senior consultant and implementation manager, and more than ten years at IBM in recruiting, operations and implementation roles. She has led more than 500 enterprise ATS implementations, holds the ICIMS Partner ATS Admin Specialist certification, and wrote From Zero to ATS Hero: The Accidental Admin's Journey (opens in a new tab).

Kaitlyn FaileCOOKaitlyn was an English teacher with Prince William County Public Schools, advancing to team lead, before moving into recruiting operations and compliance at ECS Limited. She joined IRD as an HR Solutions Architect in October 2024 and has been its COO since July 2025. She also works with clients as a consultant, including on ICIMS implementations, and writes IRD's guides on ICIMS documentation, permissions and compliance. In her words, she builds the systems so the chaos stays optional.
Ty MillerHR Solutions ArchitectTy joined Integral Recruiting Design as an HR Solutions Architect in September 2025, after working as a search consultant, recruiter and recruiting specialist. He holds the ICIMS Partner ATS Admin Specialist certification, and he started at IRD on a CXM implementation review covering form management, user access, tag configuration and admin settings. He also wrote IRD's guide to Boolean search in ICIMS CXM. Outside IRD, Ty serves as an engineer officer and platoon leader in the US Army Reserve.

A panel on hiring trends and the impact of AI, for NYU students.
TA Hackathon at NYU
Co-sponsored by NYU TechSHRM and localhost.nyc, the hackathon brought together more than 50 programmers to create solutions for TA tech to restore trust in the hiring process. Somya Gupta of localhost.nyc and Greg Mendez of NYU co-hosted, with Kaitlyn Faile, Vivian Larsen and Ty Miller of the IRD team helping out.
